#14/1 Facing the danger behind closed doors

Those two men walking in looked nothing like other vampires Kitty had seen before. To be completely fair she hadn't seen THAT many vampires, but these men were cool, posed, they dressed sharp and stylish, they looked expensive. But they had no human expression on their faces. They walked on the side of the club and entered a glass door at  the end of the club.
- Who are they? Kitty asked.
- Just customers. That's all. They come here all the time. Sometimes they just... act weird. Sandy said and tried to appear completely fine with the situation. Kitty assumed it was her job to treat every paying customer equal, or maybe she was just trying to hide her fear.
- Are they... threatening in some way? Kitty tried to get something out of Sandy.
- No... God no! No way! Sandy said and shook her head. Some people just  feel a bit uncomfortable around them. That's all. You know how people can be. Sandy tried to laugh it off. Now I need to get somebody to serve them at the cabinet. Lets hope they stay there tonight.
- I'll go. Kitty said and felt the desperate need to talk to them as soon as possible.
- Really? Sandy asked and seemed a bit suspicious.
- I may not be good at mixing drinks but damn it I can take orders. No matter how weird the people are. Kitty said and picked a notepad from her apron pocket.
- Well, if you feel you're up for it... Sandy said but before she even finished her sentence Kitty was already walking towards the cabinet door. Sandy didn't even realize she herself was stepping on the glasses Kitty had dropped just minutes earlier.

Kitty's heart was pounding like a hammer. Her hands were sweaty as she tried to have a solid grip of the pen and notepad in her hands. The cabinet was empty of other customers. Just she and the vampires were there and that made Kitty even more nervous. Sure there was the glass door and glass walls but nobody was near her to help her if she got in some kind of trouble. And by the looks of Sandy's reaction nobody would come if she needed help. The vampires were sitting across each other by a table. They didn't seem to be talking but who knew if they were secretly communicating by some kind of telepathy. The one facing away from the door immediately turned his face to Kitty as soon as she entered the door. He looked suspicious about Kitty and Kitty didn't know why. Maybe he read her mind? Maybe he knew that she was looking for them.
- What are you? the vampire asked. He had a light brown almost blond hair cut short but not too short. He was also wearing glasses and Kitty found that a bit odd. Vampire who needed glasses.
- I... I'm new in here. I'm your waitress tonight. Kitty said trying to act as less bothered by the situation as possible. Then Kitty took a look at the other vampire who hadn't said a word yet. He had long dark hair cut to shoulder length. He had also a bit of a beard, full lips and dark eyes - just staring at Kitty. Kitty shivered and she got goosebumps all over her body.
- What can I get to you two gentlemen? Kitty asked and pulled up her notepad and pen that were pretty much dripping sweat by now. The darker one of the two sat further back on his seat and reached his hand to his jacket pocket. He pulled out a really fancy looking cigarette case.
- Wine. How's your wine collection tonight? He asked picking up a thin cigarette from the case and placing it on his lips. Kitty detected an accent from his speech but couldn't recognize it from just from that sentence.
- I... Kitty swallowed. I can get the wine collection.
- Don't bother. Just bring us two glasses of your best wine. He said not even looking at Kitty. He put a lighter at the end of his cigarette and was almost about to light the cigarette when Kitty interrupted him.
- I'm sorry sir, but there's no smoking in here. The moment those words got out of Kitty's mouth she regretted them. She didn't want to provoke a vampire.
- Is that right? He asked.
- Yes. Kitty said and started wondered if it's true what they say that your entire life flashes in front of your eyes before you die.
- Well. In that case... The vampire said and put the cigarette back to the case and the lighter back to his pocket. Kitty was shocked. Was that it? Situation over? A possible life threatening moment gone by... She nodded and started slowly walking away.
