The rest of the night Kitty wasn't able to sleep well. There had been way too many people and other creatures breaking into her home the past 24 hours. In fact Kitty couldn't help but start wondering if she was safe at all in her own home. She knew that a better lock would keep Trey away and silver bullets could kill a vampire but that was pretty much all she knew. Sneaking on the streets all her life she had seen all kinds of things but she didn't know nearly enough. Most importantly she didn't know how to keep herself safe. On the streets she could run and hide, but that's not an option in her own apartment. She couldn't sleep with a gun under her pillow every night. What if she accidentally shot herself? and guns are no protection against surprise attacks or hypnotizing. She was pretty sure vampires could hypnotize innocent people.
All that Kitty was almost certain of what that vampires were something purely evil. They're vile creatures that move during the darkest hours of the night. They're godless creatures which could mean that things like crucifix's, holy water and maybe a Bible could be enough to keep them away. Sadly Kitty realized she didn't own any of those things. She was raised Catholic but that's about it. She hadn't even been to a church in ages. It's not like she didn't believe in God but she didn't think she'd need to actually do anything to practice her faith. Suddenly she felt the need to visit some holy grounds. She was willing to do anything to save herself from what ever horrible was going to face her if she kept on doing the things she had been doing. Looking for vampires, what was she thinking? And then she remembered the reason she so desperately needed to find those dark creatures. She needed to save Alex.
